I’m thrilled to announce that I’m playing with my sextet at Dizzy’s at Jazz at Lincoln Center this Tuesday August 4th. You can buy tix here. I’m so lucky to have this extraordinary band with me for this special occasion: Kendrick Scott – drums, Kevin Hays – piano, Mike Moreno – guitar, Eric Miller – trombone, and Rick Rosato – bass. We’ll be presenting mostly new music from my time as a composition fellow at the 18th Street Arts Center in Santa Monica last year. Sets are at 7:30pm and 9:30pm.
Also, if you want a little sample of our upcoming DW record (out Sept 18th), we’ll be playing in the street this afternoon at One Penn Plaza (between 34th and 35th St and between 7th and 8th Ave). One set at 6pm.

Then June 26-28 I’ll be at Smoke with Helen Sung’s group featuring Reuben Rogers on bass and Donald Edwards on drums.
Our May residency with Double-Wide starts this Wednesday the 13th at Bar LunAtico in Bed Stuy. This week’s incarnation of Double-Wide features Eric Miller on trombone, Glenn Patscha on organ/piano, Jon Lampley on sousaphone, and Joe Dyson playing drums. Sets start at 8:30pm. Joining us on May 20th will be trombonist Alan Ferber. Kenny Bentley will hold down the sousaphone chair on the 20th and 27th. We might even have secret copies of the new record available – just saying…
